1. What is Pitrupakshya?​

After the death of the Father Pitrupakhya is observed during the month of Bhadrab/Aswin Krushna pakhya(area specific) During this period the son is to do tarpan for 15 days. But it may be  Shortened as required.

2. What is Mahalaya Shradha?

During Pitru Pakhya shradha is performed on a day. Generally it is done on the tithi of Fathers death. But it is not compulsory to do on that day only, One can do it on any convenient day During the pitrupakshya period.

3. What is Brahman Bhoj?

On the day of Shradha the Jajman ( the applicant) needs to feed som Brahmins. He may feed it at his home or in a temple or at the place where shradha is performed. The Jajman may decide the Menu according to his ability. After bhoj Dakshina is to be paid. (Area and family tradition specific).

4. If a person is abroad what is the time for Shradha?

Actually the shradha is to be performed on the specific month and tithi of the deceased On the particular “tithi” Shradha is to be performed during noon. So the month , tithi and place of Death is to be ascertained. 

5. Is there any different traditions of shradha?

Yes, there are different traditions in different states and different castes. One need to specify his Family tradition and specifications after consulting the family members and/or relatives.  Accordingly shradha will be performed.

6. Place where the Shradha is to be performed?

Now we have started at some places of different states such as Odisha.UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh which is likely to be expanded to every state after consultation with the pundits.

7. What is the duration of the video streaming?

Video streaming will be done during the Pindadaan, Tarpan and Brahman Bhoj. One can watch live Provided internet is available at the place. However if the shradha is done in a temple where photography is not allowed voice message can be sent.

8. As per which Veda the Vedic rituals will be performed?

The person concerned need to specify if there is a specific Vedic rituals in the family so that the Shradha will be done accordingly.

9. Whether all the materials required are inclusive of charges?

Yes, the puja samagri is included. But if one needs some extra activities to do such as Vastra daan, Dakshina extra expenses may to be paid with specifications.

10. Should one pay Dakshina separately?

Yes.

11. Before how many days should I inform to book the slot for the rituals?

One should inform well in advance to avoid the non availability of slots. At least 7 days for all the arrangements.

12. How can I know the “muhurat” of the rituals?

One needs to consult with us through E-mail well in advance. One can also consult with the Relatives and let us inform the “muhurat”.

13. If a person dies abroad how to ascertain the date and time of shradha to be done in future?

In case of death in another country the standard time of the country is to be matched with Indian standard time and the tithi of that moment can be ascertained. It can also be calculated taking the exact longitude of the place of death.
